Should You Choose Vampire Facial or Micro Needling in Springfield Missouri

Should You Choose Vampire Facial or Micro Needling in Springfield Missouri?

When it comes to non surgical treatments to achieve youthful and radiant skin, micro needling is a great option to consider. You might have heard about the vampire facial and wonder if that's better than traditional microneedling. But what are the differences and why choose one over the other? Advanced Laser Clinic offers several types of micro needling.

Micro needling is done using sterile fine needles to puncture tiny holes in the skin. This causes a controlled wound to the skin and triggers collagen and elastin production. This can also allow the use of very potent medical grade skin care to be introduced deeper into the skin.

The vampire facial is a type of microneedling. It has the added utilization of the clients own Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP. This is where the term vampire facial is coined from.

There is a small blood draw from the client. That blood is then spun in a centrifuge. This separates the platelet rich plasma from the red blood cells. This PRP is then used to inject and micro needle back into the skin.

So basically a vampire facial is microneedling with PRP added. Why choose one over the other?

The vampire facial was made popular by certain celebrities and has caused a lot of people to seek out this treatment specifically. The added PRP does cut healing time down as PRP is the body's miracle healing substance.

On the other hand, healing time for microneedling is only a few days anyway. Injecting the PRP back into problem areas can be helpful to work on fine lines and wrinkling. Micro needling itself will do great as you are stimulating the wound healing response either way.

Advanced Laser Clinic also has another type of micro needling that we love. This is the Environ protocol. It involves regular microneedling then adding a light TCA peel after for 4 minutes.

This gives the deeper stimulation of the micro needling and then minor resurfacing from adding a peel. We then finish with targeted anti-aging products and an alginate mask to really deliver active products deep into the skin while the mask soothes and pulls heat out. It feels so good.

The cost comparison between these options are:

  • Basic micro needling is $300.
  • Vampire/PRP micro needling is $400.
  • Micro needling with peel is $400.

Having one to three treatments each year is recommended to keep your skin aging gracefully.
