Should You Choose Microblading or Powder Brows in Springfield Missouri

Should You Choose Microblading or Powder Brows?

More people than ever before are discovering the benefits of permanent eyebrows. They love having a low maintenance way to always have the type of eyebrows that they've always wanted. They also enjoy having their brows stay in place without smudging or rubbing off.

Another great benefit is the time they save each day without having to hassle with getting their eyebrows even and shaped the same before heading out the door.

Your permanent eyebrows can be shaped and styled to fit your face and there are different permanent eyebrow techniques to choose from. The two most popular techniques are microblading and powder brows.

Microblading is a relatively recent method of doing permanent eyebrows. The microblading trend really hit big around five years ago. It had been a little known method used in the beginning of permanent makeup, but in the last several years it has become a very popular technique for permanent eyebrows.

Then came the term powder brows. This is a newer term for the tried and true method of doing permanent makeup, which uses a tattoo machine. By definition, any form of permanent makeup is considered tattooing because pigment is being implanted into the skin.

So what are the major differences between these two permanent eyebrow techniques?

Microblading

This method of tattooing is done with a very fine micro blade. The blade is used to implant pigment into the skin via individual strokes. These strokes resemble brow hairs. Each stroke is done by hand. The microbladed eyebrow looks more natural and looks like there is actual hair in the area when there is not.

Powder Brows

This method of tattooing is done using a tiny needle grouping with the eyebrow tattoo machine. This needle grouping is used to cover the desired brow shape with pigment. Thus filling in the brow and making the brows look “done” or like you have put makeup on your brows. Powder brows have more of a dramatic look.

Both methods are very beneficial and time saving when applying makeup. Microblading is best used on younger skin with little texture to it. Wrinkles in the brow area will affect microblading.

Microblading is a beautiful, soft technique that can help look like you have more eyebrow hair where it might be missing. It's a great way to fill in thinner brows while still making them look natural.

Powder brows are a more fluid, covered look. Powder brows can be applied to all skin types.

Both techniques have the same before and after care. Both methods involve custom brow mapping and pigment selection. Your permanent makeup technician will advise you on the best technique for your skin type and the type of look you are wanting to achieve.

Either way you will leave with amazing looking, low maintenance eyebrows.
